ideoplasticThe content of message, in words, images or other form, delivered by any spirit entity through the resources of a medium.
illuminedThe molding or shaping of pliable material by a source external to the material, such as ectoplasm.
imageThe realization that within one is a spark of divinity or perfectness that can be fed and made to unfold for one's own good.
immortality1. Pattern revealed by a hexagram in the I Ching. 2. Awareness from the psyche that comes in various forms such as words, a knowing, or a vision.
immunityWithout cease; eternal. Life that cannot end but continues beyond the demise of the physical.
impressionThe maintenance of deliberate control over any force attempting entry into one's aura.
in breathThe whole or, or part of, message transmitted by telepathy or supernormal means as received and in whatever form received. The receiver might see the message in clairvoyant image, hear it clairaudiently, or sense it by clairsentience. In whatever manner the message is impressed into the consciousness, the well developed medium will be able, in a large percentage of recipients, to redeliver it to the intended subject.
incarnateBreathing in movement.
incarnationTo come into being; to actualize; to be possessed with form and personality, most generally meaning human form.
incense1. A manifestation in bodily form; the act of manifesting. Most used to infer embodiment for an extended period, as born to a life on earth. 2. An appearance of a supernatural entity in a body.
inconjunctSubstance with a fragrant aroma.
incorporealForming no astrological aspect to another heavenly body.
indigoNot of material substance of form; ethereal, spiritual, bodyless; i.e., not of physical substance.
inertiaColor of intuition, dignity and spiritual aspirations. Borderland where wisdom and saintliness are attained through meditation; a meeting ground for all colors. The color for the brow or 6th chakra.
inferior manAn inward passivity. Quality resisting urge, desire and aspiration to initiate any action creating change. In afterlife the initiation of the desire and the activity to begin soul progression must come from within the individual. Inertia must be overcome by each entity prior to beginning progression of soul.
infinite affinityWeak or base person, lower self in the I Ching.
infinityThe integrative harmonizing of the spirits of two or more entities.
influenced writingSpace, time and dimensions of universe extending without end or finiteness.
initiationInspired psychic communication.
inner bandThe transition from one point of polarization to another, growing capacity to see and hear on all planes, expansion of consciousness; brief period of enlightenment wherein the initiate sees that portion of the path that lies ahead and shares consciously in the evolutional plan (Bailey).
inner childTeam of spirits helping a person during their incarnation on earth.
inner earThe modern term for the level of inner self imprinted by energies and experiences of our formative years, as well as programmed unconsciously.
inner eyeIn ESP function, clairaudient hearing and vibrant, delicate sensing often does seem to enter the sensory system through the inner ear which may be the ear of the psychic, inner body rather than that of the corporal body.
inner-heat yogaSimilar usage as "third eye". As one becomes more developed, the positioning of third eye imagery becomes less conscious-centered. A clairvoyant intuition may come to one very strongly and explaining it, one says "Oh, I saw it!"
inner-phasing(Tibetan) Yoga through which psychic energy is developed and con- trolled creating a source of inner warmth and resistance to extreme cold.
inner selfReaching into the subconscious to bring to consciousness and remove the dysfunctional patterns learned early in life.
inner spaceThe spiritual nature, often hidden even from ourselves.
inspirational speakingConsciousness, the mind.
inspirational writingA spirit-controlled entry of thought to the medium's consciousness and corresponding spirit control of the oral presentation of thought.
integral dynamicThe activity passes through one's consciousness and stimulates the mind to record its thought flow. This procedure contrasts with automatic writing which is passed by the spirit contributor directly into the energizing and control of the hand doing the writing.
Integral YogaInterrelation of spiritual, cognitive, volitional, emotional, and physical elements.
integrationSystem of yoga developed by Sri Aurobindo that stresses consciousness down into the ignorance of mind, life, and body to transform and create a divine life in matter.
intellectual judgment(Aurobindo) Yogic transmutation of the many personalities that constitute a person.
Intellectual TrinityUnderstanding of yin and yang; creative, inventive ability; the fourth level of consciousness.

internal dialogueRecognition that all of life is inextricably linked with one another and the environment.
International Society for Krishna ConsciousnessInner chatter, the ego's commentary on what's happening.
interpretationHare Krishna community.
intersectionThe deciphering of any extrasensory perception. The medium's responsibility is for delivery of what is factually received. Attempts to offer consciously-created interpretation of unknown-relationship symbols by the medium would be a pretentious act.
intersticeThe interceding of an apparition with the point of consciousness of the perceiver. The apparition may be of the dreaming consciousness of a living person or that of a discarnate.
interventionary actIntervening space between one thing and another; the spaces existing in matter. Ethereal substance, as that of an ethereal body, may be seen to "pass through" a solid physical object, a door, wall, or a human body. Matter is composed of energy radiation. Matter is not solid; rather, it has pockets of space between cells of its substance. Thus, the finer substance can flow through the open spaces by magnetized intersticing.
intrapsychicReal actions deliberately taken in an effort to change the event, the effect or the outcome of a psychically precognized occurrence.
introjectionGnostic term meaning presence of God within and out.
intuitionPersonal thoughts and feelings.
Intuitive mediumshipKnowing by instinctive sensing without use of rational processes; immediate cognition; that which is so sensed. An experience that conveys an idea or impression simply by an "awareness." (ESP intuitions include no sensory experiencing such as visualizing or hearing). Too often the receiver fails to recognize the psychic origin and disregards the intuitive manifestation.
Intuitive thoughtThe thought radiations or thought-flow is transmitted from the spirit operator to the medium's "mind." A usage of this term suggests informal type of spontaneous reception when the spirit enters into the medium's mind at a momentary period of relaxed consciousness. The intuitive flash of knowledge often is mistaken as to origin by the sensitive, and, ignored.
inversion of timeThe impression, idea or fact which enters the conscious mind in a period of attunement.
invisibleAppearance of one who has just died to one closely related.
invokeAn ethereal entity. "The Invisibles" refers to unseen astral beings who may be in psychic communication with a sensitive. Individually they may be identified by name or may be unknowns participating in exchange between earthly and ethereal spheres.
involutionTo open the door to awareness with the mind.
iridologyInward movement of consciousness of energy into more dense or physical form as opposed to evolutionoutward movement toward higher consciousness.
