race karma

The past, present, and future activity, concepts, goals, economy, government, inventions, progress, etc., for each race, made by the mental and emotional equivalent of the past and present karma of the people born into it.

race of men

(esoteric) (term "Men" derives from manas, Sanskrit meaning "to think") The term refers to the kingdom of humanity.

radiation

Power existing in various wave rates and lengths. Believed to be the carrier of spirit communication with sensitives. This force is immune to material insulation and passes through solid substances. It is not explained by physical laws and is generally accepted as being of the supernormal.

radiesthesia

Sensitivity and ability to detect biological radiations and resonances; clairvoyant healing. Also known as "dielectric, "Animal magnetism".

radionics

Instrumental form of radiethesia; interaction of mind and matter.

radix

Natal birth chart.

Raja Yoga

(Sanskrit) "King of Yogas", spiritual science developed by Patanjali emphasizing regulation and control of the mind.

rapping

Responses of spirit entities by taps or knocks on furniture and walls when responding to spoken questions or thoughts of a medium.

Chinese constellation of Aquarius, bringer of water.

rational mind

The intelligence in mankind making decisions and logically thinking things out.

Discarnate voices on magnetic tape. Also see Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP).

Ray

(Theosophy) One of seven streams or chanels of force, or emanations, from the Logos; the seven qualities of God expressing individualized attributres of divine nature. Each bequeaths its quality, color, and sound as it impacts consciousness. The seven Rays are divided into three major Rays of aspect and four minor Rays of attribute. The Rulers, or Chohans, of the Rays are also known as Seven Spirits, or Elder Brothers before the Throne, or (in Eastern thought) Seven Great Rishis. They are:I-will, power (red); II-love, wisdom (blue); III-intelligence (yellow); IV-art, harmony, beauty (green); V-scientific understanding (orange); VI-devotion (indigo or rose); VII-ceremonial order (purple).

reader

One who possesses enough sensitivity to be able to read, i.e., intercept and transmit a psychic message.

reading

A psi presentation by a medium who serves as percipient in responding to questions and transmits message from discarnate sources. The term is frequently used with same meaning as "sitting", though the inference in a reading is that message is directed to specific individuals or situations.

readout

The biofeedback chart or paper that records the marks from a pen that is moved by the electrical energy emanating from the subject.

realistic dream

A dream, when asleep or awake, of a scene in an uncolored, matter-of-fact-viewing, as of a photograph. Later, when in waking state, a re-experiencing of the dream is a literal reenactment of the dream.

Reality

That which lies behind sense-impression or appearance.

rebirthing

Process of releasing repressed attitudes and emotions gained by deep breathing techniques and a reenactment of the birth process.

recall

Remembering past events while remaining in the present state of mind.

receive

To attract vibrations or energy from physical or etheric entities.

recognition

When the receiving sensitive indicates a psychic message is intended for a specific person, that target individual should give audible response of acknowledgment.

recurring dreams

Dreams that occur periodically without changing in content.

red

A primary color; first color the new baby sees; represents energy, aggressiveness, vitality. Color attributed to the root chakra.

re-entry

Return to ordinary consciousness after a supernormal experience.

reflexology

A healing system based on the manipulation of reflex points on the feet or toes.

regression

1. Backward chronological movement of behavior patterns from mature to less mature. 2. Reexperiencing past events including emotions, behavior, and general state of mind.

regression therapy

Past life or age regression research and therapy.

Reiki therapy

(Japanese for "universal life energy") Rei describes the universal part of the energy – the spirit, or soul, which is continually creating – and ki is actually a part of that rei force, indicating the energy which flows through all living things. The energy flows through the hands of a trained practitioner when they are placed upon oneself, another person, an animal, plant, or anything.

reincarnation

The process of the eternal/divine soul being born anew in a physical body after being on astral plane.

release type dreams

Symbolic visionary scenes during REM sleep releasing physical and emotional tensions and inner anxiety while the sleeper is having the dream.

religion

1. Way or ways that people orient themselves in the world with reference to both ordinary and extraordinary powers, meanings and values. 2. (Jung) Institution whose function is to protect us from an experience of God.

REM (rapid eye movement)

Eye movement in correlation with dreaming sleep, occurring at 90 minute intervals for 2-60 minutes.

remote dowsing

To hold a pendulum over a map until it swings in a manner to indicate the area where the object is located.

remote viewing

Clairvoyant perception of a distant location.

reportorization

Matching symptoms with remedies that produce and relieve affliction in homeopathy.

reproductive trinity

Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius.

responsibility

We are charged to create a response to the experience of life – appropriate to our level of understanding and spirituality. We are empowered for the purpose of creating an appropriate response to the experience of life and the lessons it brings. Correlates to the energy and influence of the number 8.

rest

The receptive principle; yin energy; complement to motion.

resonance

Condition of attractivity, affinity and empathy creating an atmosphere of affirmation for two conditions to be brought together. For example a discarnate might reincarnate when the resonance of a current earth situation has close similarity to his particular needs.

retrocognition

That which becomes known of event or circumstance of past happenings, to one who has had no possible access to the knowledge through any normal processes or the five senses.

retrograde

Apparent backward motion of a heavenly body.

re-vision

Recreating or reflecting on one's own past or experience.

revolution

Annual path of a planet.

rhapsodomancy

Divination by opening a book of poetry at random.

Lowest energy center, male sexuality center.

(esoteric) The seven stages of humanity – a series of group minds – develop during the cycle of planetary existence.

Member of a medieval European secret society professing esoteric knowledge, founded by Christian Rosenkreuz, 15th century.

rulership

Planetary influence.

run

A repetition or series of identical or near-identical events with no possible explanation other than supernormal causes.

rune
